Germany have named their starting XI against Greece tonight, reports Bild. They line up as follows: Neuer; Boateng, Hummels, Badstuber, Lahm; Khedira, Schweinsteiger; Reus, Özil, Schürrle; Klose.

Resting them against a presumed weaker opponent.....as in they think they can win without playing them.

Thanks...

Do you think this helps the Under or Over in this Game ? because I had leaned on the Under before this benching. Now, Not sure what to think of it.

I don't buy it, until I see that as the actual lineup I wouldn't believe a German tabloid.

Ya where's this info from??

Germany are to rest Mario Gomez, Lukas Podolski and Thomas Muller against Greece, according to German newspaper Bild.

Very large publication, but we shall get confirmation soon on then offcial UEFA page

i would definitely wait for offically lineups...i don't know if yellow cards get washed away after the round robin but perhaps germany is trying to win without worrying about yellow cards effecting the final (if they make it). of course greece might have said we will lose as long as germany and the EU gives as billions in loans. Funny those three names all got subbed last match...perhaps the source saw that they were subbed and thought that was for this match

either way id wait for soccernet or UEFA's website before i'd believe it

That is surprising, I must say. Although Podolski has been invisible out there so far so I actually like taking him off. Muller I don't mind either but taking Gomez off makes me think they might be taking Greece lightly here.

Greece will be without their captain and defense can only last so long but won't stand up against a technically superior German team. They're not the russians shooting into row z at every chance. I think a 2-0 result is likely.

no question that lineup is strong enough to beat greece...or anyone...i do hate the idea of Gomez on the bench but Ozil/Klose should be an attacking duo. It's seems like a big gamble leaving Muller on the bench but perhaps he has a slight knock. If they win he'll be a genius because those guys will be rested but if he losses he'll be out of a job.

reus was voted the player of the season in the bundesliga. and schurrle is great talent with a lot of pace. muller and podolski havent impressed yet in this competition. at least if there's a need germany can sub all three for some serious super subs. 't be honest i liked seeing bender last game in place of boateng.
